Home in a hut
The hut has been my home now for two years. I can highly recomend hut living. It is cozy, has a woodburning stove, a table, a bed and a chest of drawers for my clothes, 5 windows and glass double doors. I can feel like I am totally part of the landscape here or I can cover up the windows and be cozy inside. I do spend a lot of time here I confess. At night in the winter the stars twinkle away like there is no end to them. I hear an owl most nights. In the morning I look north up the Great Glen from my bed and across to the hills of Morven and when I look to the Nort- East there is the Ben, the Ben Nevis, often in snow, like a great king in ermine on his thrown. At the beginning and end of the winter, both winters so far, a hen harrier spends a few weeks here, we eye each other up. He swoops and flies fast and low, hunting. I will surely miss living in my hut when the house is done.
