Cladding the outside with some really gorgeous cedar from Ardamurchin is a very slow project for one man and a hammer. But boy, is it beautiful! It has a silky very subtle shine to it and a beautiful honey blond colour. The colour fades by the day and will go a silvery grey eventually, which will be good too. From time to time friends come to lend a hand which is very welcome. They never stay very long as our facilities, which we are so used to by now, are not really bearable for most city dwellers. Jeff and Ally stayed in the local 4* B+B, so they were alright! Liz and Phil stayed in the caravan and, because the weather was so wet and windy were put on inside work, not so nice, doing insulation, but we are so grateful that this is now started. They are hardier types and stayed in the caravan, which I'm sure wasn't all that pleasant for them. I hope the quality of the catering made up for any uncomfortableness in other areas! My gorgeous cousin Jacqueline with her husband Serge came over to visit from Geneva. Jacqueline helped me in the garden, but Serge isn't the labouring sort, he sat in the sun. They stayed in the caravan one night and decided it wasn't for them so moved to the posh B+B for the next night. It was lovely to see them and to catch up on family affairs.
Sebastian has been working on his ownfor the past 6 months and since he has to learn how to do everything first and then do it as well, it is slow. He is however doing a beautiful job.
I have decided to create another different website for the garden and woodlands, as this one is getting too full, hope to have it up in a few days. Will let you know the address here and via facebook.
