Jan - March 2014

First of all apologies for not updating the website till now.  It has been quite hard going.  Rain and wind and wind and rain and very little progress to take pictures of; that's my excuse.  I (Eva) have been planting trees almost everyday for 3 months.  I have also been going around every tree that I planted in the previous 2 years, to check them, weed around them and plant more trees in between as needed.  My dedicated garden website  Eva's garden has more on the landscaping and gardening projects.
Sebastian has been working everyday, all day, on the cladding and the insulation, on the structure and on the infrastructure.  Almost always on his own, occasionally with a little help from a joiner called Titch.

Two huge Douglas fir pillars to hold up the balcony on the North side. The right one has its metal 'high heel' shoe on.

See two shorter pillars already in place (to the right). The new pillars will go either side of the opening on the ground floor up past the patio doors to the roof over the balcony

This does remind me a bit of an Easter image. It was quite amazing how they managed this with just planks, some round stobs, a ladder and a rope!
