We had a great summer and a very good autumn as far as the weather and personal life is concerned. The magic and the beauty of the island still entrances frequently. Setbacks and worries about the build and progress of the house are a constant companion. We are becoming very laid-back islanders however. That is how it is here. Things do happen but with quite long intervals of little progress in between. I will post the latest pictures of the build. The grass roof has been stunning and even with a period of no rain for 6 weeks remained green and lush. The front porch where the main entance will be is getting built just now and it makes the house look a lot friendlier. I can't wait to be able to use the front door!
The biggest changes over the past few months have been personal ones. We decided to get married again, after 25 years we thought it was about time; we have become grandparents, a delight! One son moved to Bali, daughter still in Australia, other daughter married and has a child now, other son changed his job to work for the government and he moved in with his girlfriend, youngest son left his job in the Med for something new. The vegetables over the summer and still now, both in the poly-tunnel and outside are abundant and delicious, and we buy in very little food these days. (see www.evasgarden.co.uk for a site dedicated to the garden) And we now have 10 chickens and a cockerel which do give us joy and lovely eggs.
