DECEMBER 2011
We waited 3 weeks for the rain and the winds to drop long enough to get the men here and the blocks across on the ferry to start the foundations. They tried to get across several times and either the ferries were cancelled due to bad weather or the truck was deemed to be too heavy to safely cross the Lynne of Lorne to Lismore. Once here the men work short days but in all weathers, quite remarkable and we are very grateful to Michael Dempster and his team and to Hector who delivers the blocks and told Sebastian how to fix the van when the brake shoes wore out. Weather has been disgusting, rain and blizzards with winds to 80mph. All that can be done is to hold on and hide and trust that everything that can fly has been tied down or hidden. All we needed was a few days of snow and the beauty of the surroundings on a still morning or a starry night to forget all that extremeness.
